I am not a professional photographer, but I love to shoot. I was never serious about photography until about four years ago when my partner, photographic mentor and teacher, Rhonda R. Dorsett placed a camera in my hands and said, “just have fun”. From then on, I was hooked. Now everywhere I look, I see a photograph. I often have artistic visual ideas flowing through my mind and photography has given me an outlet to express my creativity.

I’ve been told that my photographic style is journalistic. Perhaps Lowell Beyer (my cousin) with his captivating photo journalistic street style has had a profound effect on my photography. He has inspired me to shoot stories as they unfold from my perspective; I just get an idea and shoot with my gut instinct. I love to try unique angles and experiment with the camera’s functionality; I’m always trying new and different ways of capturing images to tell a story. My favorite shots are unusual situations that make a statement, people, and automobiles. When I see anything that catches my interest I feel compelled to take out my camera.

I am very fortunate to be one of the founding partners of The Phoenix Group. We are a content provider of consumer education, training and marketing, and one of our clients is the largest camera manufacturer in the world. The Phoenix Group is deeply involved in the world of media and new technologies. This has enabled me to learn more about photography, what makes a great shot and gives me access to staying up on the latest advances in the photographic industry. In addition, I have access to some of the greatest technical experts in the field.

I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy creating them. Photography has become a true passion!
